The mattress is the easy part; it's the pump that gets forgotten, and the one that runs on the car's socket means a long cable across the sand. A rechargeable pump goes in the mattress bag and does both jobs: inflates in minutes, then sucks the air back out so the mattress folds flat instead of fighting you. It carries a set of nozzles for the different valves. Charge it with the lantern the night before and it also does the pool toys in summer and the vacuum storage bags at home.
